Dear Yorba Linda Middle School Families:

I hope that everyone is having an enjoyable and relaxing summer. I’m extremely excited about the 2010-2011 school year and continuing the commitment to academic excellence and supporting all the rich traditions that take place at YLMS.

The 2010-2011 school year promises to be an exciting year at YLMS. It is my priority to ensure students with a safe/positive environment and to make sure the quality of instruction is second to none. I look forward to meeting and getting to know all our families. I know that with the teamwork of our great community and staff, there is nothing that we can’t accomplish together. Our staff will continue to participate in ongoing professional growth, deliver the most current and relevant standards based curriculum, and deliver explicit direct instruction to our students. We will work diligently to meet the individual needs of all our students’ academic learning styles and achievement levels. On behalf of the Yorba Linda Middle School staff and myself, enjoy the rest of your summer and we look forward to the 2010-2011 school year. Important information below:

Student Registration:
6th grade – Tuesday, August 24, 2010 (8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
7th grade – Wednesday, August 25, 2010 (8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
8th grade – Thursday, August 26, 2010 (8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
If you do not register your students on these days you may register them on the first day of school on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

The First Day of School:
Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Students will receive their class schedules at registration and no changes will be made for the first two weeks of school. After that, changes will only be made upon review of original elective requests. Schedule changes will not be made to change lunches. Please be aware that some of the elective classes have been changed for some students due to master scheduling restrictions. To accentuate YLMS pride and spirit, students will be able to purchase a YLMS hat at registration. Students are allowed to wear a hat to school, but it must be a YLMS hat.

School Hours:
Regular Day 8:40 a.m. – 3:25 p.m.
Early Release Day (every Wednesday) 8:40 a.m. – 2:18 p.m.

YLMS Morning & After School Program (Boys & Girls Club)
The Boys and Girls Club offers a morning program for students from 7:00 a.m. – 8:40 a.m. and an after school program until 6:00 p.m. The registration fee is $35.00, morning program $25.00 a week, morning and after school $50.00 a week, and the after school program is $7.00 a day.
