Yearbook Parent/Friend Ads
We are now offering the opportunity to "personalize" our yearbook with a Parent Ad or Friend Ad. What a great way to congratulate a student, tell them how proud you are, or celebrate a friendship.
The deadline is February 19, 2016. We must have them by this time to get printing done in a timely manner. Cost and instructions are provided by clicking the links below. When you purchase, you must bring the ad into the office and sign. Please don't send with your student. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Hinson or Mrs. Day.
As you may be aware, there has been change in student immunization requirements in 2016.
Under a new law known as Senate Bill 277 (SB 277), beginning Jan. 1, 2016, immunization exemptions based on personal beliefs will no longer be available for the vaccines that are currently required for school admission. Personal belief exemptions (PBE) on file with the school district before Jan. 1, 2016, for a student already enrolled in school will remain in effect until the student reaches the next immunization checkpoint at kindergarten (including Preppy K) or seventh grade.

Parent Pointers - New Issue
We've added a new resource for our parents. They are quick guides to various topics related to middle school. They are designed to offer new information, quick tips, and can provide useful dinner conversation with your child. We hope you find some good information and inspiration as your family navigates "the middle school years".
You'll find the link to Parent Pointers in the YLMS Information tab, or click here.
CAASPP Test Results
By now, you should have received results of your child's CAASPP test taken last spring. This new test was taken by students last spring. It’s computerized and the format is very different. Your student probably told you all about it. Since these are the first results of this new test, it’s common to have questions. There is a parent guide, available here, which can help explain the test and results. Another resource is our district page, found here. We hope this information is helpful as you look at the results.
Parent University Classes
The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District values the active role parents take in their child’s education. In order to support this relationship, the District has implemented a parent education program entitled “Parent University.”
